capital of the world and Tarpon Flats is located on Largo Sound,
next to John Pennekamp State Park and Key Largo National Marine
Sanctuary. Tarpon Flats Inn and Marina is the closest Inn to the
beautiful reefs and wrecks located just offshore. Molasses Reef is
the most visited coral reef in the world and it’s less then a 10
mile boat ride from Tarpon Flats Inn and Marina. We can help you

Local Wrecks
The wrecks are also home to a great number of spectacular corals
and fish. There are sites that have wreckage from a number of time
periods and vessels, for all divers. These dives include, The City
of Washington, a ship with a history dating back to the 1800's. The
USS Spiegel Grove is the largest shipwreck in the world that is
accessible to scuba divers. More experienced divers will enjoy the
artificial reefs on former US Coast Guard Cutters Duane and Bibb.
Local Dive Conditions
Because the Gulf Stream passes just offshore, conditions on the
coral reefs are always great, with water temperatures ranging from a
low of 70 in the winter to 88 in the spring, with a high of around
90 in the summer.
Visibility is great. So make sure you bring your underwater
camera so you can photograph all the amazing sea life in and around
the Reefs and Wrecks that surround Key Largo. If you are a shallow
